The Holidaymakers DVD - now available, limited edition

Postby MarkMK on Thu Feb 25, 2010 5:18 pm

Nam Nyugen, the producer of the legendary "Holidaymakers" DVD, has produced a limited run of 100 and it is now available once again. The film documents the 2005 US tour.

A limited run of 100 copies has been produced and can be purchased by emailing: namwnguyen@gmail.com. Please be sure to put "holidaymakers" in the subject line, your mailing address, and the number of dvds you would like.

Payment can be made via Paypal - a very reasonable $15 per DVD inside the U.S, or $20 outside the U.S. (Both prices include shipping) made to the same email address.

If you haven't seen this, and you're to any extent a fan of the band, in my opinion it's unmissable and your collection is not complete without it. And no, I'm not on commission!

omission of many stupid interviews with some people (not the clientele) on this film would be a great edit.. so support the band by buying it , then edit it at home because the rest of it is very good.

Well I'd dissent from that view personally, I think the 'talking head' voxpop bits are sort of de rigeur for what is essentially a rockumentary. It seems to me like the whole thing was lovingly put together by someone who loves the band as much as anyone.

But whatever the nuances in taste, it's definitely worth having.

Just got my copy on Thursday. For someone who's come to the band pretty late (ie post Violet Hour) I found it pretty fascinating. Had absolutely no problems with the vox pops, though shame the sound was a bit shonky in places. I guess that fits with the slightly guerilla aesthetic. All in all I'd definitely recommend it.
